First Day Collection of OK Jaanu & Haraamkhor from Indian Screens
The first Hindi biggie of the new year, OK Jaanu has his theaters this Friday on around 1400 screens across the country. Being the second collaboration of hit jodi of Aashiqui 2 Aditya Roy Kapur & Shraddha Kapoor, has been released with good hype among fans and getting positive response from audience. Almost the all the viewers, who haven’t watch the original one i.e. OK Kanmani, has found the movie much entertaining.
Because of the sizzling chemistry between Shraddha & Adi and the youthful music of AR Rahman, OK Jaanu is receiving favorable reactions from audience, while some critics are not satisfied with the movie, because it is exactly the same as 2015’s OK Kanmani. As per them, it is the pointless remake with copy-paste script. The director Shaad Ali has not added anything his own.
After the average advance booking, OK Jaanu started the opening day with 25% of occupancy across the country and witnessed decent rise from the evening shows. As per the report, the movie has done the decent business of 4.08 crores on domestic box office and positively expected to show growth over the weekend. Already existing Aamir Khan’s Dangal still has enough hold over the audience.
On the other hand, another Hindi release Haraamkhor of Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Shweta Tripathi has also been released this week after getting delayed several times. It is a small budget non-commercial movie, promoted on a low scale. With very little initial buzz, the movie recorded 5-10% of occupancy in India and raked the business of 23.70 lacs.
