Expected Opening of Banjo, Wah Taj, Parched & Days of Tafree across India
This Friday there are number of Hindi movies scheduled to be released at box office and some noticeable ones among them are Banjo, Wah Taj, Parched and Day of Tafree. Last week released Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Pink still has good hold over audience. So for any new release except Riteish Deshmukh’s Banjo, it won’t be easy to break its spell.
One of the most versatile actors Riteish Deshmukh is coming solo with Banjo after 2014’s Marathi movie Lai Bhaari, which was a blockbuster. Most of the movies he has done so far are multi-starrer and his last solo Hindi movie was 2012’s Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya which did decent at box office.
Banjo is musical action drama movie, directed by Ravi Jadhav and bankrolled by Krishika Lulla under the banner Eros International. Along with Riteish it features Nargis Fakhri as a leading lady and Dharmesh Yelande in crucial supporting role. Banjo has created decent hype among audience with the trailer and music, so it is expected to take decent start on box office.
Major contribution in its business is expected to be made from Maharashtra, because being a local Marathi boy Riteish has a high fan base there. As per the report, Banjo can receive around 25% of occupancy across 1500 Indian screens. With wide scale promotions and such decent occupancy, its opening domestic business is estimated to be around 4-5 crores.
On the other hand, Shreyas Talpade and Manjari Fandis starrer Wah Taj is a drama movie, directed by Ajit Sinha and presented by Jayantilal Gada under the banner Pen India Ltd. The movie has little hype among audience, but Shreyas also has good fan base in Maharashtra, so it can rake the amount of 1-1.5 crore on the opening day.
The third one, Parched is a strong women-centric movie, directed by Leena Yadav and produced by Ajay Devgn under the banner Ajay Devgn FFilms. It is an internationally applauded and critically acclaimed movie, has already won 18 awards. But at box office, it has very less buzz so it is not expected to take more than 1 crore of opening.
The last one Days of Tafree is youth-comedy movie, directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. It is the official remake of Gujarati movie Chhello Divas and has low hype on box office as Parched. So, this one is also not expected to take the opening of more than 1 crore.
