Box Office: Badrinath Ki Dulhania 17th Day Collection, Surpasses ABCD 2 with 3rd Weekend

Director Shashank Khaitan’s recent offering Badrinath Ki Dulhania was released on 10th of March with good buzz among audience and as expected witnessed amazing response of them. After starting it’s journey on an impressive note, the movie has emerged as the first super hit of year 2017, also become the highest grossing movie of actress Alia Bhatt‘s career so far.

Because of favorable public response and critics reviews, Badrinath Ki Dulhania gained strong word of mouth and as a result performed excellently so far at domestic as well as overseas box office. With year’s third best opening so far, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer did the business of 73.66 crores in the opening week from approximately 3000 screens in India.

The first week total was including 43.05 crores of weekend and 30.61 crores of weekdays. Then in the second week too, this much awaited romantic comedy remained strong despite several new releases and raked the business of 27.08 crores with 17.56 crores of weekend and 9.52 crores of weekdays. After couple of weeks, total domestic collection of Badrinath Ki Dulhania was recorded as 100.74 crores.

Now Varun-Alia starrer is running in it’s third week and successfully enjoyed the weekend despite new Hindi offerings. On 3rd Friday, second installment from the franchise that was began with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania faced around 35% of drop than previous day and managed to collect the amount of 1.35 crore.

On Saturday being weekend, the movie showed decent jump and minted the amount of 2.35 crores. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, as expected it witnessed more growth and added the amount of 3.25 crores to it’s account. With this, 17 days total collection of Badrinath Ki Dulhania has become 107.69 crores and surpassed the lifetime total of Varun Dhawan‘s ABCD 2 (105.74 crores).
