Box Office: Befikre 17th Day Collection, Surpasses Lifetime Total of Udta Punjab with 3rd Weekend

17 Days Total Collection of Ranveer-Vaani starrer Befikre

Young superstar Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s recent offering Befikre has passed one more level, despite the mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. Although the movie is heading humbly on box office but adding considerable figures to its business total and has surpassed the lifetime total of Anurag Kashyap’s Udta Punjab in its third weekend of release. Backed by the big banner Yash Raj Films, it was released with wide scale promotions and buzz.

Due to good initial buzz, it had taken strong start on domestic box office but got failure to continue it for further. Just after the opening weekend, Aditya Chopra’s directorial was started witnessing abrupt drops in its business. In the opening week, this romantic drama did overall good business of 48.75 crores with 34.43 crores of weekend and 14.32 crores of weekdays.

Then in the second week, Befikre faced usual drop but remained steady and registered the business of 10.55 crores, including 6.79 crores of weekend and 3.76 crores of weekdays. After 2 weeks, total collection of the movie was recorded as 59.30 crores on domestic box office. Now it is running in its third week and reported average business in the weekend as superstar Aamir Khan’s newly released biggie Dangal is on fire.

On its 3rd Friday, Befikre minted the amount of 0.42 crore with almost 50% drop than previous day. On the next day, being weekend it showed little growth and managed to add the amount of 0.70 crore to its account. On the last day of weekend i.e Sunday, the movie received higher response than last 2 days and collected 0.98 crore, which has made its 17 days domestic total as 61.40 crores*. With this, it has surpassed the lifetime total of Udta Punjab (60.30 crores).
