Box Office: Befikre 9th Day Collection, Surpasses Lifetime Total of ‘Ki & Ka’

9 Days Total Collection of Romantic Drama ‘Befikre’

After a strong start, Bollywood’s last week offering Befikre has been completed its opening week on a decent note and now heading averagely on box office, opposite to new release erotic thriller Wajah Tum Ho. Backed by the big banner Yash Raj Films, it was promoted on a wide scale and released with good excitement of lead stars Ranveer Singh & Vaani Kapoor’s fans. Due to initial buzz, it had witnessed good occupancy in the early days and also registered the 10th highest opening of the year so far.

Although the movie has got almost favorable response from most of the viewers but received mixed reviews from critics. As per critics, Befikre does not any effective story line, only the entertaining performance of Ranveer and peppy music are the highlight, which are not enough to make it run steadily for long. This would be the last week for Aditya Chopra’s directorial to perform, as from coming Friday Aamir Khan’s mammoth Dangal is being released.

In the opening weekend, Befikre recorded more than 50% of occupancy throughout and did the strong business of 34.43 crores, including 10.36 crores of Friday, 11.60 crores of Saturday and 12.47 crores. In weekdays, it faced abrupt fall in its business and completed the week at 48.75 crores, with 5.20 crores of Monday, 3.59 crores of Tuesday, 3.02 crores of Wednesday and 2.51 crores of Thursday.

Now the movie is running in its second week and getting average response nationwide. On its 2nd Friday, Ranveer-Vaani starrer raked the business of 1.68 crore with almost 33% of drop than previous day and crossed the mark of 50 crore on domestic box office. Then on the next day i.e. Saturday, being weekend Befikre showed little jump and minted the amount of 2.23 crores to make its 9 days domestic total as 52.66 crores. With which it has surpassed the lifetime total of Arjun Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor Khan’s romantic drama Ki & Ka (52.31 crores).
