Dangal Surpasses the Lifetime Total of PK in 17 Days
Couple of weeks back released Hindi offering Dangal has created new record in the history of Indian cinema, it has become the biggest grosser of all time on domestic box office in just 17 days of release. Yes with this end of its third weekend, superstar Aamir Khan starrer this sports biopic has surpassed the lifetime total of his own 2014’s PK. With its phenomenal performance box office across the globe, the movie has surprised everyone and setting a new benchmark.
Based on the inspiring story of former wrestling champion Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta Phogat & Babita Kumari, Dangal has impressed all the viewers and is being appreciated by everyone including Bollywood celebrities. From critics also, it has received very positive reviews an and as a result remained rock-steady on box office so far.
In the opening week, Walt Disney’s this recent presentation had recorded tremendous response and registered the impressive business of 197.54 crores from Indian screens, which was included 107.01 crores of weekend and 90.53 crores of weekdays. Then in its second week too, Dangal remained excellent and did the business of 115.96 crores, with 73.70 crores of weekend and 42.26 crores of weekdays. After 2 weeks, total domestic collection of the movie was calculated as 313.50 crores.
Now Dangal is running in the third week and again enjoyed higher occupancy in third weekend. On the 3rd Friday, it faced only 27% of drop than previous day and managed to collect 6.66 crores. Then on Saturday, it witnessed superb growth and added the amount of 10.80 crores to its account. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, the movie reported more growth and minted the amount of 14.33 crores, which has made its 17 days total collection as 345.30 crores domestically.
