Aamir Khan’s Dangal Unlocks 350 Cr Club from India
This is for the first time, when a Hindi movie is all set to rake over 350 crores on domestic box office. This has done by none other than, the benchmark setter superstar Aamir Khan with his recent offering Dangal within 3 weeks of its release. He is the first one who had entered in 100 crore club with Ghajini in 2008, 200 crore club with 3 Idiots in 2009, 250 crore club with Dhoom 3 in 2013, 300 crore club with PK in 2014 and now just few yards away from the mark of 350 crores.
In the opening week, Dangal witnessed wonderful response from audience across the country and did the phenomenal business of 197.54 crores with 107.01 crores of weekend and 90.53 crores of weekdays. In its second week too, the movie remained excellent and registered the business of 115.96 crores including 73.70 crores of weekend and 42.26 crores of weekdays.
Now Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial is running in the third week and recorded good business growth in this weekend also. In its third weekend, the movie raked the business of 31.79 crores that included 6.66 crores of Friday, 10.80 crores of Saturday and 14.33 crores of Sunday. After 17 days of release, total collection of Dangal was calculated as 345.30 crores from India and 180.58 crores from International market.
Once again, it is in weekdays and started getting lesser audience in theaters than before but still has good hold. On third Monday, the movie reported around 35% of drop than Friday and managed to add the amount of 4.35 crores to its account, which has made its 18 days domestic total as 349.65 crores. Dangal is positively expected to rake more than 360 crores by this week domestically.
