Box Office: Dear Zindagi 20th Day Collection, Surpasses Lifetime Total of Big B’s Pink

20 Days Total Collection of Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi

With its content and the marvelous performances of lead stars Shahrukh Khan & Alia Bhatt, recent drama offering from Bollywood Dear Zindagi has impressed everyone and is being appreciated by critics. Being highly star powered and buzzed, it was released with immense excitement of fans and as expected received wonderful response from audience in theaters across the country.

This is the second directorial venture of Gauri Shinde after 2012’s English-Vinglish. Her first movie was got much appreciation from critics as well as celebrities, and the same is happening with Dear Zindagi too. In the opening week, SRK-Alia starrer recorded excellent occupancy and registered the business of 47 crores including 32.50 crores of weekend and 14.50 crores of weekdays.

Then in its second week too, it remained strong despite the new release Kahaani 2 and did the business of 14.39 crores, with 10.10 crores of weekend plus 4.39 crores of weekdays. Now the movie is running in the third week and has newly released Yash Raj Films’ much hyped Befikre in opposite. Despite this, Dear Zindagi performed decently in the third weekend and raked the business of 2.95 crores, which was included 0.55 crore of Friday, 1.10 crore of Saturday and 1.30 crore of Sunday.

After the third weekend, total collection of Dear Zindagi was recorded as 64.44 crores on domestic box office. Once again the movie is in weekdays and getting lesser audience in theaters than before. On Monday, it reported almost 20% of drop than last Friday and managed to collect 0.42 crore. With this further decline, it minted 0.41 crore on Tuesday.

On the next day i.e. Wednesday, Dear Zindagi faced little more drop and done the business of 0.35 crore to make its 20 days domestic total as 65.62 crores. With this, it has surpassed the lifetime total of Big B’s critically acclaimed movie Pink (65.39 crores). Now it has emerged as the 13th highest grossing movie of the year so far.
