First Day Collection of Rajinikanth’s Kabali

Latest biggest Tamil offering of the year, superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kabali has opened with a gigantic buzz among audience across the globe. The movie has released on wide number of screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. Being Thalaiva starrer, it had massive pre-release hype among fans as well as audience and as expected taken an enormous start on worldwide box office.

Within a day of its advance booking, Kabali declared as houseful for the entire opening weekend in most of theaters of its dominated circuit Tamil Nadu. Kabali started the opening day on a phenomenal note and reported morning shows occupancy of more than 75% across India. In South Indian regions, the movie witnessed almost houseful for the entire day. Fans of Rajinikanth are showing immense craze towards his latest offering and creating huge buzz on social media about it from last 2 weeks.

Unfortunately after the release, the movie has not received much positive reviews from all critics but most of the audience has showed big thumbs up for it. Weak direction of Pa. Ranjith is the major spoiler of the movie but the presence of superstar Rajinikanth still makes it super entertaining and critics have also admitted on this. Unfavorable reviews of critics may affect the second day of Kabali but has not showed any negative impact of it on the first day performance.

With almost 85% occupancy across the country, Kabali has minted the amount of 46.50 crores on Indian box office, that includes 21.50 crores from Tamil Nadu, 9.25 crores from Andhra Pradesh, 6.25 crores of Karnataka, 4.30 crores from Kerala and 5.20 crores from rest of India. At worldwide box office, it has raked the business of around 105 crores that includes 60 crores gross from India and 45 crores from overseas market. As per the report, the movie had reported the record business of 12.93 crores from USA-Canada with its preview shows on Thursday.
