Box Office: Kahaani 2 4th Day Collection, Witnesses Abrupt Fall on Monday

4 Days Total Collection of Sujoy Ghosh’ Kahaani 2

Latest installment of the thriller franchise Kahaani has completed its first 3 days journey on an average note. Sujoy Ghosh’ directorial was released this Friday with decent buzz among audience and recorded average occupancy through out across the country on 1235 screens. Being associated with the successful franchise, the movie was expected to receive better on box office but it has to satisfy with this only.

Although Kahaani 2 has registered higher business in the opening weekend than 2012’s Kahaani but doesn’t seem to maintain steady pace for long. Due to its predictable story and less thrill, the movie has received mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. But everyone appreciated the performances of lead stars Vidya Balan & Arjun Rampal.

With the support of star fans, Kahaani 2 reported continuous growth over the weekend and did the business of 16.97 crores on domestic box office, whereas the original one did 13.83 crores. The movie raked the amount of 4.25 crores on Friday with 30-35% of occupancy. Then on Saturday & Sunday, it showed decent growth and minted 5.79 crores and 6.93 crores respectively.

Now it has entered in weekdays and asusual witnessed abrupt fall in its occupancy than weekend. On Monday, Kahaani 2 reported almost 50% of drop than Friday and estimated to add the amount of 2.04 crores to make its 4 days domestic total as 19.01 crores. From the next Friday YRF’s Befikre is being released, so it won’t be easy for Vidya Balan starrer to surpass the lifetime total of Kahaani (51.55 crores).
