Box Office: Kahaani 2 7th Day Collection, Crosses 24 Cr Total in 1 Week

Sujoy Ghosh’s directorial second installment from the franchise Kahaani has completed its one week journey on box office. Being associated with the critically acclaimed 2012’s Kahaani, the latest one was released with decent buzz. With mixed reviews of critics, it has witnessed average occupancy through out the week across India and registered slightly higher business than the original one.

Kahaani 2 has got complete support of lead stars Vidya Balan & Arjun Rampal’s fans. Also audience has reacted in favor of it, even though this thriller does not seem to surpass the lifetime domestic total of Kahaani, that was 51.55 crores. It won’t be possible for it, to maintain steady pace for long as Ranveer Singh & Vaani Kapoor’s Befikre is being released from this Friday.

In the opening weekend, Kahaani 2 received average occupancy and did the business of 16.97 crores, that was included 4.25 crores of Friday, 5.79 crores of Saturday and 6.93 crores of Sunday. Then in weekdays, asusual the movie faced abrupt fall but remained steady. On Monday, it reported almost 50% of drop than the opening day and did the business of 2.04 crores.

With further decline, Vidya starrer raked the business of 1.96 crore and 1.74 crore on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, it added the amount of 1.55 crore to its account with more drop and made its one week total as 24.26 crores on domestic box office. Now the movie will has to compete with YRF’s Befikre.
