6 Days Total Collection of Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro
Ace storyteller Ashutosh Gowariker’s directorial recent offering Mohenjo Daro witnessed decent response in the opening weekend and now in weekdays started loosing its hold over audience. Being Hrithik Roshan starrer, it has been released with huge excitement and expectations of audience but unfortunately received mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers, which made it second choice of the audience after Akshay Kumar’s Rustom.
This is the second and one of the most ambitious collaborations of Ashutosh Gowariker and Hrithik after 2008’s Jodhaa Akbar. Being highly budgeted and promoted, it was expected to compete strongly with adjacent release Rustom but its weak editing pulled it back and now it is lagging behind by much difference.
In the opening weekend, Mohenjo Daro reported decent occupancy of 30-40% through out and did the business of only 30.55 crores including 8.87 crores of Friday, 9.60 crores of Saturday and 12.08 crores of Sunday. Whereas Rustom raked the business of 50.42 crores in first 3 days despite lesser screens count across the country.
Now the movie is running in weekdays but on Monday being holiday due to Independence Day, it remained almost steady and collected the amount of 10.27 crores. On Tuesday, it recorded abrupt fall in its occupancy and some how managed to secure the business of 3.16 crores. Then on Wednesday, it faced more drop and added the amount of 2.96 crores to its account.
With this, total 6 days collection of Mohenjo Daro has become 46.94 crores on domestic box office. The movie is likely to rake the business of over 50 crores in the opening week.
