8 Days Total Collection of Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro
Ace storyteller Ashutosh Gowariker’s directorial recent offering Mohenjo Daro has been released last Friday opposite to Rustom on around 2700 screens across the country. Being Hrithik Roshan starrer and highly budgeted movie of the year, it had high buzz among fans as well as audience.
But unfortunately the movie has not received much positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers, which melted down all its hype with the end of opening weekend. Because of the weak editing and inferior CGI, Mohenjo Daro got failure in satisfying critics as well as audience.
In the opening week, it recorded decent occupancy of 30-40% through out and did the business of total 51.18 crores net (71.08 crores gross) on domestic box office, including 30.55 crores of weekend and 20.63 crores of weekdays. The weekend total of the movie included, 8.87 crores of Friday, 9.60 crores of Saturday and 12.08 crores of Sunday.
In weekdays, on Monday due to Independence Day Mohenjo Daro remained almost steady and raked 10.27 crores. Then from Tuesday it faced abrupt fall in its occupancy and minted 3.16 crores on Tuesday, 2.96 crores on Wednesday and 4.24 crores on Thursday (Raksha Bandhan). From overseas market, it reported little better business of around 24 crores in the first week.
Now the movie has entered in its second weekend and due to new release Happy Bhag Jayegi, facing little competition. On its second Friday, Mohenjo Daro faced around 75% of drop than Thursday and added the amount of 1.05 crore to its account. With this, its 8 days total domestic collection has become 52.23 crores and surpassed the lifetime total of Ki & Ka (52.10 crores).
