OK Jaanu’s Performance on Saturday across India
The first awaited Hindi movie of the year, OK Jaanu has been released with good buzz among audience this Friday, but witnessed average response on the opening day at box office across the country. Being Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer, it was expected to break the opening record of their previous collaboration Aashiqui 2, which raked the amount of 6.25 crores on day-one. But the movie got lesser occupancy than its earlier expectations.
Although OK Jaanu is receiving favorable reviews from audience, while many critics are not satisfied with it. As per them, it is exactly the same as original one, OK Kanmani (Tamil). The lead stars have shown beautiful chemistry but still the movie lags on emotions. Director Shaad Ali has not added anything his own in the movie, which has made it a pointless remake.
Despite this, Ok Jaanu is an enjoyable movie, for those who haven’t watch OK Kanmani. On the opening day, Dharma Productions’ recent venture recorded 25% of occupancy for the morning shows and registered an average business of 4.08 crores from 1400 screens in India. While the new Hollywood offering xXx-Return of Xander Cage reported the business of 1.75 crore with its paid previews only on Friday’s evening.
On the next day i.e. Saturday due to weekend and Makar Sankranti, Shraddha-Adi starrer showed the growth of around 20% in its business and minted the amount of 4.90 crores. With this, its 2 days total collection has become 8.98 crores on domestic box office. Let see how much response it will get on Sunday across the country.
