5 Days Total Collection of ‘OK Jaanu’

Karan Johar’s recent production venture OK Jaanu, the Hindi remake of Tamil romantic drama OK Kanmani, has been released this Friday with good initial buzz among audience. Despite holidays, it got failed to cash the weekend and remained on ground through out.

In its opening weekend, Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur’s second collaboration after Aashiqui 2, OK Jaanu witnessed an average response through out. Earlier it was expected to perform at least decently after the release, but nothing has come out in decent. The movie had remained flat over the weekend and got lesser occupancy than expected.

On the opening day, this romantic drama received overall 25-30% of occupancy on 1400 screens across the country despite Lohri holiday and did an average business of 4.08 crores. While the new Hollywood offering xXx Return of Xander Cage has made 1.75 crore with its paid previews only. Also Shraddha-Adi’s previous movie Aashiqui 2 did the opening business of 6.25 crores.

On the second day, the movie received limited growth and managed to collect the amount of 4.90 crores. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, it was supposed to take more jump due to holiday but it was #IndvEng cricket match and OK Jaanu minted the amount of 4.82 crores. After the opening weekend, total domestic collection of Shaad Ali’s directorial was recorded as 13.80 crores.

Now it is running in weekdays and getting more lesser audience in theaters than weekend. On Monday, it faced the drop of almost 52% than Friday and added the amount of 1.95 crore to its account. With further decline, OK Jaanu raked the amount 1.35 crore and made its 5 days total collection as 17.10 crores on domestic box office.
