Parched, Wah Taj & Days of Tafree Take Dull Start
Among four noticeable Hindi offerings of this week, Riteish Deshmukh starrer Banjo has taken the highest start, even which is not good. Last Friday released Amitabh Bachchan starrer social thriller Pink has witnessed higher response on its second Friday than all new Hindi releases. That means, Banjo is at the second position with 20% of overall occupancy on the opening day across India.
Krishnadev Yagnik’s directorial youth-centric comedy movie Days of Tafree acquired the third position with only 5-8% of occupancy. But it has received negative reviews from most of the critics, also audience has not reacted in its favor. Due to which it remained flat through out the opening day and minted the amount of 0.45 crore.
Leena Yadav’s directorial women-centric social drama Parched, has witnessed very less response than expected. Despite being internationally applauded and critically acclaimed, it has not received atleast average response on box office. Before the release, it managed to stay in news because of leaked nude scenes from the movie but released with no buzz and collected only 0.12 crore.
Shreyas Talpade and Manjari Fandis starrer satirical-drama Wah Taj has received mixed reviews from critics but witnessed very low occupancy in theaters. Ofcourse it could get little better if promotions were done on higher scale. On the opening day, Ajit Sinha’s directorial recorded only 4-5% of occupancy and added the amount of 0.20 crore to its account.
