Director Anshai Lal’s this romantic comedy also stars Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Kaur Pirzada. With the wonderful performances of all the stars and soulful music, the film has impressed everyone but some critics have not found Phillauri up to the mark because of it’s loose screenplay.

On the opening day Anushka’s this second venture as a producer, reported overall 20% of occupancy across the country for morning shows. Asusual after the evening shows, film picked up and closed the day on an average note. In Delhi and Punjab regions, Phillauri recorded highest occupancy of 35% because of Diljit’s stardom.

With overall 25-30% of occupancy, Phillauri has done the business of 4.02 crores on domestic box office. The opening is not good but decent as compare to it’s moderate budget of 21 crores. Reportedly Anushka-Diljit starrer has already recovered the amount of 12 crores with satellite & music rights.

This means, only 9 crores are needed to be recovered from theatrical revenue, which is not very difficult as the film is positively expected to take decent growth on Saturday and Sunday. Anushka’s precious production venture NH10 did the opening business of 3.35 crores, while Diljit’s Punjabi films usually do more than 2 crores of opening across India.
