Udta Punjab Faces Troubles Before Release!

Anurag Kashyap’s latest venture, crime thriller Udta Punjab is facing continuous troubles before the release. First because of the censorship and now its censor copy has leaked on internet. After a long wait, the movie got clearance from censor board and just after that, this illegal activity has occurred. That means, thousands have already watched Udta Punjab before its actual release.

Being ‘A’ certified, the movie targets only limited audience and most of these limited ones have already watched it. Earlier we were expecting, Udta Punjab will get positive result of all the controversies happened to it. Also it is releasing on pretty good 2000 screens across the country, so everything was looking in favor of it. But now all the expectations have washed out.

The advance booking of Udta Punjab was started from the 13th June, the day when Bombay High Court passed it with only one cut. As per the reports from theaters, movie is witnessing an average response for its pre-booking. Considering present scenario, the movie is expected to get decent response after the release.

Hollywood’s Now You See Me 2 is also there to hamper its performance, so we can’t expect impressive business. On the opening day, Udta Punjab can rake around 8 – 9.50 crores on Indian screens. Its weekend collection will be near about 25 – 27 crores, The movie can accelerate further by decent rate if its content clicks.
