Box Office: Raees 1st Day Collection, SRK starrer Takes Excellent Start in India

First Day Collection of Shahrukh Khan’s Raees

New year’s one of the most awaited movies, superstar Shahrukh Khan starrer Raees has been released on Wednesday with enormous hype among his fans. As expected the movie has received overwhelmed response from audience across the country as well as overseas. From critics also it has got rave reviews, which have generated strong word of mouth about it and attracting more audience toward theaters.

As per critics, Raees is a complete entertainment package for all the age-group audience. Shahrukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have given brilliant performances in the movie as always, which make it a must watch entertainer. Most of the critics have already marked this crime action-thriller as the sure-shot winner on box office.

On the opening day, Raees started morning shows with excellent occupancy of 85% across the country and witnessed steady response through out the day. With this, it has done the business of around 20.42 crores on domestic box office and emerged as the fourth biggest opener of Shahrukh’s career after his 2014’s Happy New Year (44.97 crores), 2013’s Chennai Express (33.12 crores) & 2015’s Dilwale (21 crores).

Major contribution to the opening business of Rahul Dholakia’s directorial is made by single screen cinemas. In multiplexes, Raees and adjacent release Kaabil have reported almost similar response. With such immense craze and strong word of mouth, SRK’s latest offering is expected to take impressive jump on 26th of January due to holiday on accounts of Republic Day.
