Box Office: Rock On 2 3rd Day Collection, Farhan’s Musical Drama Remains on Ground

This Friday released, the decently hyped musical drama Rock On 2 has witnessed cold response on box office. Due to demonetization of Rs. 500 & 1000 notes has badly affected its performances, also the presence of previous releases Shivaay & Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is also the reason behind its failure. Despite wide scale promotions, the movie has not recorded even average occupancy in theaters through out the opening weekend.

Rock On 2 features Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal & Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. Their fans are showing good craze but that is not enough to make it run smooth on box office. Being the sequel of 2008’s hit musical drama Rock On, it has been released with some expectations but after the mixed reviews from critics and all these unfavorable circumstances, the movie is being avoided by audience.

On the opening day, Rock On 2 reported very poor occupancy of 10% in the morning and registered the below average business of 2.02 crores after little better performance of evening & night shows in multiplexes. Then on Saturday also, it remained low and did the business of 2.41 crores from 1700 screens across India.

On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, most of crowd were seen outside the banks instead of theaters or else, because their priorities are different these days. With little higher occupancy than last 2 days, Rock On 2 minted the amount of 2.58 crores and made its opening weekend domestic total as 7.01 crores. The movie is expected to receive more better response on Monday due to holiday of banks on accounts of Children’s Day.
