Box Office: Sardaar Ji 2 1st Day Collection; Takes Tremendous Start Worldwide!

Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 2 Gets Terrific Response Worldwide

The latest Punjabi movie Sardaar Ji 2 has taken a fantastic start on box office. Diljit Dosanjh starrer this movie has released on around 350 screens in India and 200 screens in overseas. Being the sequel of 2015’s Punjabi blockbuster Sardaar Ji, it has good buzz among audience and as its prequel getting overwhelmed response across the globe. It has received very positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers, which has generated good word of mouth about it on box office.

As expected Sardaar Ji 2 is witnessing excellent response in north Indian regions, especially in Punjab & Delhi. In these two states, it has smashed all the existing options in theaters and taken the lead. Last week released Udta Punjab which also features Diljit, is now struggling on box office because of this new arrival. Fans of Diljit and Punjabi audience worldwide are showing huge craze towards the movie ans showing bug thumbs up for it.

On the basis of its advance booking report, trade analysts had predicted it to received overall 40-45% occupancy across the country. But due to unavailability of any strong release from Bollywood this week, Sardaar Ji 2 has reported higher response than expected on its opening day. In fact it has registered the highest opening of all time in Punjabi cinema.

It started the day on a good note and recorded impressive growth from evening shows. Multi screens audience have contributed much to its first day business. With an overall 50% occupancy, Sardaar Ji 2 minted the amount of 2.75 crores (includes 2.06 crores of East Punjab) across India. From overseas market too, it reported quite impressive opening business of more than 2 crores.
