Superstar Ajay Devgn’s ambitious directorial venture, Shivaay has been released this festive season with huge excitement of audience and as expected received impressive response in theaters despite Diwali pooja. Being year’s one of the much awaited movies, it had registered good business in its opening weekend and still has strong hold over audience due to holidays.

Shivaay has magnificent direction and stands high on visuals, due to which it has received very positive reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. Because of competition, major audience got diverted toward adjacent release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but Ajay Devgn starrer still witnessing good occupancy in theaters.

On the opening day, Shivaay had recorded 30-35% of occupancy across India which was lesser than ADHM. It did the opening business of 10.24 crores and emerged as the tenth highest opener of the year so far. On Saturday also, it remained strong and raked the business of 10.06 crores.

Then on the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being Diwali the movie witnessed lesser occupancy and minted the amount of 8.26 crores. With this, the opening weekend collection of the movie was recorded as 28.56 crores on domestic box office. Reportedly, it had grossed most of the business from single screen cinemas.

Now Shivaay has entered in weekdays and being holiday it is getting terrific occupancy. On Monday, it reported more than 100% of jump in its business and added the amount of 17.35 crores to its account. With this, its 4 days domestic total has become 45.91 crores.
