Box Office: Shivaay 6th Day Collection, Transcends Lifetime Total of Udta Punjab

Superstar Ajay Devgn’s recent offering, the very much anticipated movie Shivaay is heading on a strong note despite heavy competition with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. This action thriller has been released with huge excitement of fans and as expected received favorable response from everyone.

As a director as well as lead star, Ajay has given brilliant performances. For which he is being appreciated by all the critics. The mesmerizing camera work and  spectacular visuals, have stunned each and everyone. As per most of critics, Shivaay has completely lived up to the earlier expectations.

The movie had taken lesser opening than the adjacent romantic drama movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but still registered the tenth highest opening of the year so far on a terrific note. It did the business of 28.56 crores in the first weekend, which included 10.24 crores of Friday, 10.06 crores of Saturday and 8.26 crores of Sunday.

Now Shivaay is running in weekdays but being holidays, it had reported impressive business in last 2 days from Indian screens. On Monday it witnessed more than 100% of growth as compare to Sunday and raked the business of 17.35 crores. Then on Tuesday, it remained strong and minted the amount of 11.05 crores. After 5 days, total collection of the movie was recorded as 56.96 crores.

On the next day i.e. Wednesday, being normal working day Shivaay received lesser response than before and added the amount of 7.40 crores to its account. With this, its 6 days domestic total has become 64.36 crores which is higher than the lifetime total of Udta Punjabi (60.30 crores).
