44 Days Total Collection Salman Khan’s Sultan
After a phenomenal start and tremendous run, Salman Khan starrer Sultan has now slowed down to the lowest. Being year’s one of the most awaited movies, it has been released with humongous buzz among fans as well as audience. As expected it witnessed overwhelmed response from audience across the globe and received very positive reviews from most of the critics. This generated strong word of mouth about Sultan across the country and made it the third Indian movie to enter in 300 crores club after PK & Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
In the opening week with excellent occupancy through out, Sultan did the phenomenal business of 229.16 crores. In the second week, despite new release Great Grand Masti it remained unaffected and raked the business of 48.80 crores. Then in the third week due to superstar Rajinikanth’s much awaited Tamil movie Kabali in opposite, it faced little higher drop but still managed to collect 15.84 crores.
In the fourth week Sultan had new Hindi offering Dishoom in opposite, so it witnessed lesser occupancy than before and did an average business of 4.43 crores. In the fifth week due to no big release, it remained almost steady and minted the amount of 2.12 crores.
After five weeks, total domestic collection of Sultan was recorded as 300.35 crores. In the sixth weekend, due to new two much awaited movie Rustom & Mohenjo Daro, the movie reported very less response. With 0.08 crore of Friday, 0.11 crore of Saturday and 0.16 crore of Sunday, Sultan collected 0.35 crore across India.
On Monday being holiday of Raksha Bandhan, it scored 0.12 crore. Then with almost 30% of drop than Friday, it raked 0.05 crore on Tuesday, 0.05 crore on Wednesday and 0.04 crore on Thursday. With this total 6 weeks domestic collection of Sultan has become 300.96 crores*.
