Saturday Performance of Erotic Thriller ‘Wajah Tum Ho’
This week’s offering from Bollywood, Wajah Tum Ho has taken slow start on box office, despite good number of screens across the country. After witnessing good opening of Hate Story 2 & 3, T-Series’ latest erotic thriller was also expected to acquire good position. But it has resulted in less than earlier expectations. Although the movie has received almost positive reviews from most of the critics, but still audience is not showing much interest in it.
As per critics, it has effective script with good dose of suspense and thriller but the needless efforts to give erotic touch, has ruined it to some extent, also made it targeted to selected audience. Sana Khan, Sharman Joshi, Rajneesh Duggal and Gurmeet Choudhary starrer Wajah Tum Ho has been released with decent excitement among fans and got favorable response from viewers, which were limited in numbers.
On the opening day, Wajah Tum Ho was recorded only 20% of occupancy across 1995 screens in India and registered the opening of 2.86 crores. Whereas Hate Story 2 & 3 took good start with 5.26 crores and 9.72 crores respectively. Decently running previous releases like Befikre, Kahaani 2 & Dear Zindagi might be the reason behind such average response. Also demonetization of ₹500 & ₹1000 notes has raised cash crisis in the country.
On the next day i.e. Saturday, despite being weekend Vishal Pandya’s directorial witnessed slight drop in its occupancy and managed to collect the amount of 2.68 crores. With this, its 2 days total collection has become 5.54 crores on domestic box office. Under such conditions, Wajah Tum Ho can receive better response on Sunday to make its opening weekend near about 8.50 crores.
