Karan Johar’s recent venture ‘Brothers’ has completed its 2 weeks at box office. In its first week, it showed commendable performance but from the second week its pace was slowed down by heavy rate. Movie received mixed reviews from critics after release but its strong story and support of audience made it to earn good at box office. It got overwhelmed response worldwide but the positive environment created by fans of Akshay in first week, was not worked in second week.
Being the emotional drama and ofcourse non-masala movie, the movie was not expected to perform outstanding but still it was done excellent business. Everyone who watched it, appreciated the movie and the work of its star cast. Akshay & Jackie Shroff received huge appreciation for their brilliant acting in the movie. Soulful music also played its role very well and became the reason behind positive hype of the movie among audience.
In the first week, Brothers was done the business of total 72.60 crores and registered the second highest opening week collection of year 2015 so far. It has also become the best performer movie of Akshay’s career till yet. The first week earning of Brothers included 52.08 crores of weekend and 20.52 crores of weekdays.
From the second week, it was started facing heavy drop in its business and collected 6.10 crores as its second weekend total that included 1.40 crore of Friday, 2 crores of Saturday and 2.70 crores of Sunday. In weekdays it faced more drop and minted around 1.20 crore as its 11th day collection. On Tuesday it collected 0.90 crore as its 12th day collection with slight drop than previous day.
On Wednesday, it recorded less occupancy and minted near about 0.86 crore as its 13th day collection. On the last of its second week, it done the business of approx. 0.81 crore and made its 2 weeks total of around 82.47 crores at Indian box office. Brothers has already dominated the lifetime domestic collection of Piku and become the 7th highest grosser movie of 2015 so far. Now it is slowly heading towards Akshay’s last release Gabbar Is Back and expected to surpass it till the end of third week.
