‘Brothers’ 5th Day Collection: Crosses the mark of 60 Cr in 5 days from Indian screens

This Friday released movie Brothers is loosing its pace now, faced the drop of 60% in its business on Monday. The movie is still doing good, but the performance it showed in its weekend was excellent. It was collected the amount of 52.08 crores in its first weekend at domestic and 15.77 crores at overseas box office. Till now, the movie has created many records to its account. It has registered the second highest opening of year 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan and also become the highest opening day grosser and highest opening weekend grosser of Akshay’s career.

Brothers is an official remake of Hollywood movie Warrior, directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. It was having very high pre-release among audience as it is featuring the superstar Akshay Kumar in lead role. The movie was started with opening business of 15.20 crores with overall occupancy of 70% in India. After the premieres, some critics didn’t found it up to the mark and rated with low stars. Due to the low stars rating, the craze of audience towards the movie was looking down in morning but later the occupancy increased as it was started receiving positive reviews from audience.

On Saturday being the weekend and also the national holiday of Independence Day, Brothers showed high jump in its business and minted 21.43 crores as its second day collection. On the main day of weekend i.e. Sunday, movie recorded less occupancy than Saturday and collected 15.45 crores as its third day collection. From Monday, it has entered in weekdays and started facing drops in its business. The movie was made the business of 6.23 crores as its 4th day collection with almost 60% drop than Sunday. Till the end of its 4th day, the total domestic collection of Brothers was 58.31 crores. On its 5th day of release i.e. on Tuesday, it has reported slightly less occupancy than Monday and done the business of 5.11 crores.
