Dhadak 12th Day Collection, Karan Johar’s Film Dominates John Abraham’s Parmanu

Despite starring newcomers in lead roles and getting mixed reactions from the viewers, last week released Dhadak has got succeed to dominate John Abraham’s much applauded Parmanu- The Story Of Pokhran (65.89 crores), which is way stronger than it in terms of content & performances by the leading actors.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is the official Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. Having an almost similar story with a new pair, this romantic drama hasn’t received completely positive reviews from the critics but still, it got succeed to pull major crowd toward theaters.

Being backed by the big production banner and due to the huge popularity of original, Ishaan Khatter & Janhvi Kapoor starrer took a strong opening and did an excellent business of 51.56 crores in the first week that included 33.67 crores of the weekend and 17.89 crores of weekdays.

Karan Johar’s production is now running in its second week and once again showed solid performance over the weekend despite being affected by Hollywood biggie Mission: Impossible – Fallout. In the second weekend, Dhadak registered the business of 11.83 crores with 2.61 crores on 2nd Friday, 4.02 crores on 2nd Saturday & 5.20 crores on 2nd Sunday.

Then on weekdays, as usual, Zee Studios’ presentation witnessed a fall in occupancy but still has enough hold over the audience. On 2nd Monday, it minted the amount of 1.56 crores after a drop of 40.23% than Friday. On 2nd Tuesday, with a further decline, the movie bagged 1.50 crores and raised 12 days total collection to 66.45 crores.
