Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale has lost its hold over Audience
Director Rohit Shetty’s latest collaboration with Red Chillies Entertainment, Dilwale was showed phenomenal performance in the opening week but now lagging behind Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani that was released on the same day. The movie was recorded overwhelmed response across the globe and also received positive reviews from most of the critics but still started facing heavy drops in its business just after the opening weekend. Being a superstar Shahrukh Khan starrer, this movie had huge pre-release hype among audience and that was the reason behind its excellent start on box office. But in front of magnum opus Bajirao Mastani, the stardom of SRK has stopped showing magic.
In the opening week, Dilwale was reported excellent response on Indian as well as overseas screens. It was raked the business of total 102.65 crores from Indian screens that comprises 65.09 crores of weekend and 37.56 crores of weekdays. The movie was expected to take good rise in its second weekend but it hasn’t happened and the adjacent release Bajirao Mastani has taken lead over it. In the second weekend, Dilwale has grossed the amount of total 21.23 crores, comprised of 8.11 crores on Friday, 6 crores on Saturday and 7.12 crores on Sunday. Till the 10th day, it has recorded 110.83 crores collection from its overseas screens.
In weekdays, Dilwale has faced more drops in its business and raked 2.70 crores on Monday, 3.12 crores on Tuesday and 3.13 crores on Wednesday. On the last day of the second week i.e. Thursday it has minted the amount of 2.38 crores as its 14th day collection, to make its 2 weeks domestic total as 135.21 crores. Now once again the weekend is here and of course the movie is expected to show little but some rise in response as well as business.
