Nishikant Kamat directorial movie Drishyam is performing decently at box office. Featuring the Bollywood’s well known star Ajay Devgn, so getting great support of his fans. Drishyam is a remake of Malayalam movie with same title that was released in year 2013. The pre-release buzz of the movie was not so high, but after release it is getting super positive reviews from audience as well as from critics. Almost all critics are in favor of the movie and rated with 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5. Everyone appreciating the performance of Ajay in the movie, also Tabu is getting praised for performing her character of a stern cop so well.
On the opening day, Drishyam was performed almost decent and collected 8.50 crores including 50 lacs of paid premieres that were held on Thursday. As the pre-release buzz for the movie was not much high, so on first day movie has started with average occupancy, but later because of positive reactions from audience it experienced increment from evening shows.
On Saturday, word of mouth resulted in positive for the movie and started the day with decent occupancy. The second collection of Drishyam was recorded as 9.40 crores with a rise of 17% than first day. On Sunday, as expected the movie was made the highest collection of its first weekend; minted 12.13 crores as its third day collection. Till the end of its first week, the total collection of the movie was 30.03 crores.
Now weekdays have started and as usual, the movie has started facing drop in its business. On its 4th day, movie has started with average occupancy and done the business of around 4.05 crores. Considering the super positive reactions of audience, Drishyam is expected to run with steady business graph till the end of its first week.
