YRF’s Fan Struggles for 100 Cr on Indian Box Office
Superstar Shahrukh Khan’s latest offering, the very much awaited thriller drama film ‘Fan‘ has failed to perform up to the expectations. Despite massive hype and heavy promotions it has lost almost all its hold over audience. It has received very positive reviews from most of the critics due to the brilliant performance of Shahrukh but still after 12 days the movie is standing far way from the mark of 100 cr on Indian box office. At worldwide box office, Fan is heading towards 150 cr but that is also very less than the business that SRK’s movie usually does.
In the opening week on 3500+ screens of India, Fan reported overall good response and did the business of 71.50 cr, that includes 52.35 cr of weekend and 19.15 cr of weekdays. Due to initial buzz, it has emerged as highest opener and opening weekend grosser of 2016 so far. But got failed to register the record of highest opening week grosser and acquired the third position after Airlift and The Jungle Book.
In a week of release, the hype of Fan has been settled down and it raked the business of only 7.75 cr in its second weekend, that includes 1.70 cr of Friday, 2.65 cr of Saturday and 3.40 cr of Sunday. Hollywood biggie The Jungle Book had reported far better than this in its third weekend. After 10 days of release, total collection of the movie was recorded as 79.25 cr on domestic and 61.35 cr on overseas box office.
Now once again, Fan has entered in weekdays and started getting very low response. On Monday with considerable drop it minted the amount of 1.10 cr as its 11th day collection. On the next day i.e. Tuesday with slight more drop, it added the amount of 1 cr to its account and make it 12 days domestic total as 81.35 cr.
