Shahrukh Khan’s Fan Struggles at Box Office
This is really not so easy to digest, that superstar Shahrukh Khan starrer latest drama thriller Fan is not getting much response at box office. It has massive pre-release hype among audience across the globe and also received very positive reviews from critics. Still the movie is struggling to rake reputed business total, that suits with the level of SRK. Before its release, Fan was declared as the upcoming blockbuster of 2016 but the outcome has shocked everyone. In actual, it is heading very slowly towards 100 cr on domestic box office.
Fan started the opening week on a good note but dropped down so early. It received overall good response but lesser than earlier expectations. In overseas, it has been released on 1100 screens and minted the total collection of 51.48 cr in a week. Despite so much hype and heavy promotions, Yash Raj Films’ productional venture got failed to break the first week record of Airlift (83.50 cr) & The Jungle Book (74.08 cr) in India.
Now it is running in the second week and being the only strong option on box office from Bollywood, it was expected to show decent growth in this weekend. On Friday, it witnessed an average response and did the business of 1.70 cr. On the next day, being Saturday it received little higher and added the amount of 2.65 cr to its account. After 9 days, total domestic collection of Fan is recorded as 75.85 cr. The Hollywood biggie, The Jungle Book is running in its third week and still has much hold over Indian audience, getting comparatively better than Fan.
