This week three new Bollywood offerings are ready to hit theaters, that include Simran, Lucknow Central and Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi. First two movies have decent buzz among audience, while the third one is being released almost silently. The good thing in this clash is, all are based on different genre from each other.
Talking about the biggest release of this week, then Kangana Ranaut starrer Simran is the one which has highest pre-release buzz because of star power. Directed by promising story teller Hansal Mehta, it’s a drama movie revolves around a Gujarati girl who works as a housekeeper in US and unknowingly gets involved in the world of crime.
With it’s trailer, Simran made good impact on viewers and also because of the presence of Bollywood’s one of the most talented actresses Kangana, audience is looking more interested towards this actress oriented movie than adjacent ones. Considering the facts and figures, it is expected to open in range of 3-4.50 crores domestically.
On the other hand, Farhan Akhtar, Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Rohit Roy and Rajesh Sharma starrer Lucknow Central is inspired by a true incident. It’s a story of an ordinary man Kishen Mohan Girhotra who gets convicted of a murder and sentenced to life imprisonment at the Lucknow Central Jail.
Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, this prison escape drama is hitting on decent number of screens nationwide. Farhan Akhtar has a decent acting career so far and his last commercial movie Rock On 2 was a flop. Due to the presence of Gippy Grewal it can perform better in Punjab, so the opening business can be in range of 2.50-3.50 crores.
Last but not the least, Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vir Das and Payal Ghosh starrer Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi has very low buzz but being a romantic comedy the movie can attract enough audience toward itself if critics react in favor. So far, it seems to open in range of 0.50-1 crore at domestic box office.
