Fourth (4th) Day Collection: ‘Shaandaar’ seems not so Shaandaar at Box Office

‘Shaandaar’ Grosses 33.51 Cr as Weekend Total in India

This week’s new release, the Shahid Kapoor & Alia Bhatt starrer romantic comedy movie Shaandaar has been slowed down before Monday. The movie took excellent start with 13.10 crores on first day, but because of cold reaction from audience it has lost its charm so early. It has received mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. After the terrific start, Shaandaar was expected to do more impressive in weekend but it doesn’t happened in that way. Just after a day, it witnessed a drop of 40% in its business.

This is the first movie of Shahid & Alia together, both have chocolaty image among audience. Along with them, their fans were also very much excited to watch their chemistry on screen. Yes this is true, that the movie had good pre-release hype at box office & everyone was expecting good with it. This would not be wrong if we say, that Shaandaar is repeating Katti Batti but with slightly better business figures.

Shaandaar was released on the occasion of Dussehra i.e. 22nd October, on the first day it was recorded the overall occupancy of 35-40% in India & minted the amount of 13.10 crores. On the next day, it witnessed a heavy drop of 40% in its business & raked only 7.55 crores as its second day collection. The Friday figure was very shocking for everyone but this is justice for good movies.

On Saturday, Shaandaar faced more drop & reported the business of 6.75 crores as its third day collection. It had four holidays weekend but has not showed any impressive performance except the fluky opening. On the last day of weekend, being Sunday the day was expected to be resulted in better but it added only 6.11 crores more to its account. Till the end of its fourth day, total weekend collection of Shaandaar is recorded as 33.51 crores on Indian screens.
