This Friday released the only notable offering Fukrey Returns has opened to a very good note and getting positive reviews from audience across the country. Being the sequel to 2013’s highly entertaining Fukrey, the new one has hit the screens with good hype and fortunately strumming the right chord.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Fukrey Returns starring the original ensemble cast that includes Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh & Richa Chadha, Priya Anand, Vishakha Singh and Pankaj Tripathi. It resumes the story after a year from where it’s first part was ended.
With the trailer and promos, this comedy drama made good impact on viewers and promised a hilarious ride for them. After the release, as expected the movie is getting positive response from audience but unfortunately some of the critics haven’t found it as much funny as they were expecting.
On the opening day, Fukrey Returns started it’s journey on 20-25% of occupancy and witnessed good growth over the evening and night shows in Northern regions while decent in other parts of the country. Overall on a good note, the movie raked the business of 8.10 crores at domestic box office.
Due to positive word of mouth and success of it’s prequel which did 2.60 crores business on first day, Fukrey Returns registered far better opening than several successful movies of the year with controlled budget, like Hindi Medium (2.81 crores), Bareilly Ki Barfi (2.42 crores), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2.71 crores) and Tumhari Sulu (2.87 crores).
Excel Entertainment’s latest presentation is positively expected to take good jump over the weekend as most of the viewers have found it very entertaining and worth-a-watch.
