Superstar Akshay Kumar’s Gold and John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate have completed their second week on a normal note after an excellent opening week. Both the movies did well, but one cannot deny that they have badly hampered the performance of each other.
Directed by Reema Kagti, the sports drama Gold has received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience and did the business of 89.30 crores in the extended 9-days opening week that included 71.30 crores of the weekend and 18 crores of weekdays.
Then in the second week, it dropped at a considerable rate and registered the business of 14.70 crores with 9.70 crores on the weekend and 5 crores on weekdays. Now the movie has entered in the 3rd weekend and collected the amount of 0.45 crore on 3rd Friday to take 17 days total collection to 104.45 crores nett.
On the other hand, Milap Milan Zaveri’s directorial Satyameva Jayate has also got succeed to entertain the audience despite mixed critics reviews and did the business of 75.09 crores in the prolonged first week with 56.91 crores on the weekend and 18.18 crores on weekdays.
In the second week, after a heavy drop, it collected 13.71 crores that included 8.34 crores on the weekend and 5.37 crores on weekdays. Now it is in the 3rd weekend and managed to collect the amount of 0.30 crore on 3rd Friday and raised 17 days total collection to 89.15 crores nett.
