The latest Hindi offering, the adult comedy Great Grand Masti has been released this Friday with decent buzz among audience but received negative reviews from critics as well as disappointing response on box office. Around two weeks earlier than its scheduled release date i.e. July 22, the movie got leaked on internet. That is why, makers borrowed some screens from Sultan and preponed it by a week to July 15.

Being ‘A’ certified, Great Grand Masti targets only youth audience and some of them had already watched its pirated version before the release. So it was expected to get decent start but it received lesser than that, which can be considered as disappointing. In the opening weekend, this third installment of franchise Masti did the business of only 8.25 crores, that includes 2.50 crores of Friday, 2.50 crores of Saturday and 3.25 crores of Sunday.

Now it has entered in weekdays and asusual witnessed heavy drop in its occupancy than weekend. On Monday, it has reported almost 45% drop than Friday and added the amount of 1.45 crore* to its account. With this, its 4 days total collection has become 9.70 crores* on domestic box office.

In parallel, the fifth installment of Hollywood’s very popular animated franchise Ice Age has also been released in India on this Friday. The movie has received almost positive reviews from critics as well as audience and reported better performance than Great Grand Masti despite lesser screen count.

In the opening weekend, Ice Age: Collision Course raked the business of 8.50 crores across India including 1.90 crore of Friday, 3 crores of Saturday and 3.60 crores of Sunday. On Monday, it also witnessed considerable drop than weekend and minted the amount of 1.70 crore* as its 4th day collection. With this, its total collection collection has become 10.20 crores* across India.
