After passing the opening weekend on an overall decent note, Eros International & Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions’ presentation Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has remained steady on Monday despite a usual drop in footfalls and having existing biggies Gold & Satyameva Jayate in the opposite.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the sequel to 2016’s Happy Bhag Jayegi has received mixed reviews from the critics due to in-effective story-line but got succeed to make the audience laugh across the country. As a result, it registered a decent total in the first weekend despite a slow start.
Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal, Piyush Mishra & Jassie Gill starrer Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi opened on a slow note on Friday due to the presence of last week released Gold & SMJ at the box office. But still, it did the business of 11.78 crores in the weekend with 2.70 crores on Friday, 4.03 crores on Saturday, and 5.05 crores on Sunday.
Now, this comedy has entered on weekdays and faced a usual drop in footfalls due to normal working days. On Monday, with a dip of 24%, HPBG bagged the amount of 2.05 crores and raised its 4 days total collection 13.83 crores nett at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, director Anil Sharma’s new venture after a long time gap Genius has got failed to leave an impact on viewers. In the opening weekend, it did the business of only 3 crores with 0.75 crore on Friday, 1 crore on Saturday, and 1.25 crores on Sunday.
Then on Monday, newcomers Utkarsh Sharma and Ishita Chauhan starrer action thriller Genius faced a drop of 33.3% and minted the amount of 0.50 crore. With this, its total collection after 4 days has become 3.50 crores at the domestic box office.
