The new release from Bollywood this week is, Hichki which started its journey on a decent note on Friday and showed remarkable growth on Saturday due to positive word of mouth. Starring Rani Mukerji in lead role, the movie stands high on content and performance, as a result, has impressed everyone.
Directed by Sidharth P Malhotra, Hichki has received positive reviews from the critics and also got succeed to entertain the audience. Based on the journey of a teacher having Tourette syndrome, it also gives a good social message.
On the first day, Yash Raj Films’ presentation, this drama flick opened on a slow note but picked up well post noon shows and registered the business of 3.30 crores from the limited 961 screens across India.
On Saturday, due to positive reactions from the audience, Hichki witnessed a solid growth in footfalls and minted the amount of 5.35 crores. With this, its 2 days total collection has become 8.65 crores at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, much awaited Punjabi offering Sajjan Singh Rangroot has also received a positive response from the critics as well as the audience. Being Diljit Dosanjh starrer, it got released on a high buzz and recorded a good opening.
On Friday with overall fair occupancy, Pankaj Batra’s directorial did the business of 1.35 crore from 414 screens. On the next day i.e. Saturday, it took approx. 30% of jump and minted the amount of 1.75 crore to raise its 2 days total collection to 3.10 crores.
