Holiday 17th Day Box Office Response
Holiday movie is doing good business on box-office. It was the 17th day today and quite a moderate occupancy was seen in the theatres. To brief up about the review, Holiday is movie of a soldier and depicts the very readiness of an Army personnel to be on duty for his nation. It is the story of our soldier Akshay Kumar. While, on a ‘Holiday mission’, he suddenly encounters an attack on the school bus. Leaving all his marriage plans he makes himself ready for another mission to save the country. The movie got amazing public response and huge earnings. Critics too have praised the concept and Akshay is glistening in this role as well. The stunts are performed brilliantly keeping all the technicalities in mind. Screenplay too is fantastic. Sonakshi does not have much of a major part to play in the movie; however, she slides in for a song or two.
First weekend collection of this Akshay Kumar starrer was quite astonishing but could not manage to break “Jai Ho” record. Collection then turned out to be a massive 41 crores sum. First day collection was somewhere near 12.18 crores. By the end of first week the total collection was 68.78 crores.
At the end of second week Holiday managed 99.72 crores.
Holiday 3rd Sunday Box Office Collection
Being a high budget movie the promotions were quite hefty and thus this could be the reason for such a great earning report. On the 17th day the film opened to good occupancy of 35-40%. In Mumbai the occupancy for morning and noon shows was just around 35%, while Delhi gave 40% and Gurgaon had 45-50% occupancy. On 3rd Friday Humshakals was released because of which most of the screens had shown Humshakals. This led to a big drop in the collection on the 3rd Friday. However, it picked up the speed on 3rd Saturday and Sunday because of bad reviews from Humshakals.
The 17th Day collection is 3.1 crores. 3rd Friday collection was approximately 1.04 crores and 3rd Saturday collection was 1.92 crores.
Total 3rd Weekend collection of Holiday- 105.41 crores (approx.)
The movie is expected to become the highest grosser of the year 2014, if it stays on 1000+ screens for few more days. Lifetime earnings could reach 120 crores in the upcoming days.

2nd Week Collection: 30.68 Cr
15th day Collection- 1.04 Cr
16th Day Collection- 1.92 Cr
