Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly awaited Kaala has its opening weekend on a strong note in Tamil Nadu but unfortunately, it got failed to achieve the expected height. Thala’s films get released like a festival in south India but this time that craze was missing among the fans as well as the audience.
After a terrific opening due to high star power, Kaala successfully managed to remain strong throughout the extended 4-days weekend across the Tamil state and grossed the business of 43.75 crores, that included 15.40 crores on Thursday, 10.50 crores on Friday, 8.50 crores on Saturday, and 9.35 crores on Sunday.
From Chennai, Pa. Ranjith’s directorial reported the business of 6.60 crores in first 4-days of release, while film’s Hindi version struggled a lot and collected the business of 6.25 crores. After a weekend, the total collection of Kaala was recorded at 71.50 crores at the domestic box office.
Now Dhanush’ production is running on weekdays and faced an abrupt drop in footfalls due to normal working days. On Monday, it minted the amount of 4.50 crores after a drop of 52% than Sunday. With a further dip, the film bagged 3.85 crores and raised 5 days total to 52.10 crores at the TN box office.
On the other hand, the much-awaited American sci-fi Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is getting a very good response from the Indian audience. On the 4-days extended weekend, it did the business of 40.10 crores, that included 6 crores on Thursday, 7.75 crores on Friday, 12.25 crores on Saturday, and 14.10 crores on Sunday.
Now the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World is running on weekdays and still has a good hold over the audience across India. On Monday, it faced a drop of 21% than Thursday and minted 4.75 crores. With a further decline, Jurassic World 2 garnered the business of 4.45 crores and raised its 5 days total to 49.30 crores nett from Indian screens including English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.
