Kaala & Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Total 8-Days Extended Opening Week Collection

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest offering Kaala has passed its opening week on an excellent note in south India, while in the rest of India the adjacent release Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom remained the first choice of the audience despite having last week’s strongly-running Hindi comedy Veere Di Wedding in the opposite.

Directed by the very promising Pa. Ranjith, Thalaiva starrer Tamil action thriller wasn’t released with expected buzz this is the reason, it got failed to show any magic outside south India. But at the TN box office, it took a terrific start and remained solid throughout due to solid star power.

On the extended 4-days opening weekend, Kaala did the business of  43.75 crores, that included 15.40 crores on Thursday, 10.50 crores on Friday, 8.50 crores on Saturday, and 9.35 crores on Sunday. From Chennai alone, it registered 6.60 crores on the first weekend.

Then on weekdays, as usual, the movie faced an abrupt drop in footfalls and raked the business of 4.50 crores on Monday. With further dips, it minted 3.85 crores on Tuesday and 3.25 crores on Wednesday. On 2nd Thursday, Kaala bagged 2.85 crores and raised its 8 days total to 58.20 crores from the Tamil state.

On the other hand, American Sci-fi Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom has got a superb response from the Indian audience throughout the opening week. On the weekend, it did the business of 40.10 crores, that included 6 crores on Thursday, 7.75 crores on Friday, 12.25 crores on Saturday, and 14.10 crores on Sunday.
