Kanchana 2 – OK Kanmani First Day Collection: Got Decent Start

After big buzz in media and so many hypes among the audience, one of the awaited Tamil movies Kanchana 2 & OK Kanmani has finally hit the box office screens today. Both the films are different from each other totally in genre and story but released in Tamil language together on same day. Where Kanchana 2 is a horror comedy featuring good names in lead roles, OK Kanmani is a total romantic film. Hence the audience could be seen divided in two parts- love story loving and horror comedy loving.

Overall occupancy of the films was fantastic today and most of the shows were seen houseful in the regions of Tamil films. Films made greater business in south India in the regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh especially and recorded a total first day income of around 5.6 crores* for OK Kanmani & 4.5 crores* for Kanchana 2. These are very positive amounts for both the films considering today only first day of their release. Now the films are set to face their first weekend and next two days will be very profitable for them as it is the weekend time.

Audience was waiting a long time for these film getting release and now when the day has finally came, audience showed up huge interest in the films and everyone was outside the theatres and cinema halls today to watch this movies. OK Kanmani enjoyed couples and youth and Kanchana 2 enjoyed mostly the families, kids and youth along.

Both are fascinating movies in their own ways and most of the audience loved the films. There were other good releases in last week’s but they haven’t affected business of new films much in their dominated regions, on the contrary; both films have proved to be a good competitor for each other in south India.
