7 Days Total Collection of Madaari
Last Friday released, strongest offering among all Hindi releases Madaari completes its opening week journey on a low note. Despite favorable reviews from critics as well as viewers, the movie has not witnessed much footfall in theaters toward itself. Audience preferred dubbed Hindi version of superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali (Tamil) and Eid release Salman Khan’s Sultan more over this. These two box office rulers are the major reasons behind such poor performance of Madaari.
One of the most admirable directors in Bollywood, Nishikant Kamat’s directorial this social-thriller features very promising actors Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Sheirgill. But still Madaari is not able to attract audience in theaters. Both the actors have given brilliant performance as always, also received much appreciations from critics but this thing can’t make it run smoothly on box office.
In the opening weekend, Madaari reported only 10-20% of occupancy across India and did the business of 9.75 crores with 2.25 crores of Friday, 3.50 crores of Saturday and 4 crores of Sunday. While the 2 weeks old Sultan registered higher business than this on its third week despite having Kabali in opposite.
In weekdays, the movie recorded almost 45% of drop than last Friday and collected 1.25 crore on Monday. On Tuesday, it faced more drop and raked the business of 1.10 crore. Then on Wednesday, it witnessed abrupt fall of 40% than previous day and added 1 crore to its account.
On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, Madaari reported slight more and as per report collected the amount of 0.90 crore nationwide. With this, its one week total has become 14 crores on domestic box office. There is no much hope with it to perform considerable in its second week, because new Hindi movie Dishoom is being released this week.
