Despite the mixed word of mouth, the much-awaited Telugu offering of superstar Mahesh Babu, Maharshi has got succeed to make the right buzz among the audience & registered a massive business in the 4-days extended opening weekend at the box office worldwide.
Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the Telugu action-drama has unfortunately got failed to convince the critics and received mixed reviews. While from the audience in Telugu states and other south Indian regions, the film has got complete support and remained strong throughout the weekend.
On Thursday, Maharshi took a tremendous start with more an approx. 100% occupancy in the morning and successfully registered the second biggest opening record of Mahesh Babu with 34 crores gross from Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. While on Friday & Saturday, after a heavy drop, it managed to gross the business of 10.88 crores & 11.38 crores respectively.
On the next day i.e. Sunday, the 25th film of Mahesh Babu remained almost steady and raked the business of 11.49 crores gross. After the 4-days weekend, its total gross collection has become 67.75 crores at the AP/TS box office including 49.15 crores shares.
At the worldwide box office, Maharshi has grossed the amount of 100 crores that included 48.80 crores on Thursday, 16.10 crores on Friday, 17.20 crores on Saturday and 17.90 crores on Sunday. As per the current trend, it is expected to remain steady on weekdays as well.
