With a long waiting and hypes in the media all over the south India, the much awaited Akkineni family multi-starrer Manam hit screens on May 23. The response to the movie has been overwhelming. Not just Akkineni fans, other film buffs too have hailed the movie as one of the best released this year so far. The movie stars three generations of Akkineni family Akkineni Nageshwar Rao, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya. Nagarjuna and Amala’s son Akhil who had debuted as a child artiste in the Telugu version of the Hollywood hit Baby’s Day Out, Sisindri too has done a cameo in the movie. Shriya Saran, Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays the leading ladies while Bollywood Badshah Amitabh Bachchan makes a special appearance in the movie. With such a mind blowing star cast the film gained decent response fr0m the audience right from its starting day at box office. It is now 5th day for the film since its release and the business done by the flick is quite favorable. Audience has shown their craze for their loved super stars by watching this film with excitement and positive views.

However Manam has not been able to give competition to the other co releases in the Indian cinema including the Bollywood debut action cum romantic flick Heropanti, south Indian super star Rajinikanth starrer visually effective movie Kochadaiiyaan or the Hollywood latest venture X Men: Days of Future Past. Manam has done a good performance and on its fifth day of release it has collected overall 1.25 Crores on the big screen. Manam is a romantic drama comedy which is plus point for it. Hence more of the viewers are watching it due to family entertainer. It is interesting to see whether Manam emerges as the least collector among all the releases or fights to get some good position in the race.
