Manikarnika & Thackeray 3rd Day Box Office Collection, Register a Good Weekend!

After a decent start, this Friday released new Hindi offerings- Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi & Thackeray have registered a good opening weekend at the domestic box office. Despite the highly-appreciated Uri The Surgical Strike, both the films managed to divert enough audience toward themselves due to positive word of mouth.

The first biggie of the year from Bollywood, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi stars Kangana Ranaut in the titular role who has given a commendable performance and is being praised by many. From the critics as well as the audience, the period drama has received mostly positive reviews.

On the opening day, Krish Jagarlamudi & Kangana’s directorial took an ordinary start but managed to pick up well post noon shows and did the business of 8.75 crores. On Saturday, due to a public holiday of Republic Day, it recorded a massive growth and minted 18.10 crores.

On the next day i.e. Sunday, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi witnessed a slight drop in footfalls than Saturday and raked the business of 15.70 crores. With this, its opening weekend total collection has become 42.55 crores nett from 3000 screens across India including Hindi, Tamil & Telugu versions.

In parallel, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer biographical drama Thackeray has also received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience and getting a superb response from Maharashtra. It opened on a decent note and did the business of 6 crores on Friday.

On Saturday, Abhijit Panse’s directorial witnessed a healthy jump in footfalls due to a holiday and scored 10 crores. On Sunday, with a significant decline, Thackeray bagged the amount of 6.90 crores and raised its first-weekend total domestic collection to 22.90 crores from around 1500 screens including Hindi & Marathi languages.
