Due to the absence of any major release this Friday, last week’s October has thoroughly cashed the weekend at the box office. After passing the opening week on a decent note, Shoojit Sircar’s directorial showed an excellent growth over its second weekend despite the ongoing IPL 2018.

The first-ever collaboration of ace filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and young superstar Varun Dhawan, October has received critical acclaim for the brilliant performances by the leading actors and its heartwarming story-line. But being an unconventional romantic drama, it is attracting only the multiplex going audience.

With low contribution from the single screens, the movie opened on a decent note but managed to remain steady throughout due to positive word of mouth. In the first week, it did the business of total 30.24 crores, that included 20.25 crores of the weekend and 9.99 crores of weekdays from 1983 screens.

Now October is running on its second week and passed this weekend on a fair note. It raked the business of 1.89 crores on 2nd Friday after a drop of 16% than the previous day. Then it took a solid jump on 2nd Saturday and minted the amount of 3.42 crores.

On the next day i.e. 2nd Sunday as well, Ronnie Lahiri & Sheel Kumar’s production witnessed fair jump and bagged the amount of 4.27 crores. With this, the total collection of the movie after 10 days, has become 39.82 crores at the domestic box office. Made with a budget of 20 crores, October would be the next successful offering of Varun Dhawan after 9 in a row.
