After a fair second weekend, last week released Hindi offering October is heading decently at the box office due to the absence of any major release. The recent collaboration of director Shoojit Sircar & writer Juhi Chaturvedi hit duo, hasn’t received desired welcome but maintaining a good pace now in its second week.
Starring the mass favorite Varun Dhawan and the debutante Banita Sandhu, October has received critical acclaim but it targets only the multiplex going audience due to its thin line subject. Although both the actors have performed brilliantly and are being appreciated by everyone.
After a decent opening week, this unconventional romantic drama showed an excellent jump over its second weekend. It did the business of 1.89 crores on 2nd Friday, while on 2nd Saturday & 2nd Sunday, the movie witnessed fair response and raked the business of 3.42 crores & 4.27 crores respectively.
Now it has stepped-in on weekdays again and as usual, started getting lower footfalls than before. On 2nd Monday, October faced a drop of approx 39.5% than 2nd Friday and minted the amount of 1.14 crore. With this, its 11 days total collection has become 40.96 crores at the domestic box office including 30.24 crores of the first week.
Being a non-masala movie, Varun Dhawan starrer opened on a slow note but took a healthy jump afterward and remained steady throughout the opening week due to a favorable word of mouth. It did the business of 20.25 crores on the opening weekend and 9.99 crores on weekdays from 1683 screens across India.
