For the brilliant performances and heartwarming story-line, last week released October has received good critical acclaim, because of which it is heading steadily at the box office. The movie is not getting desired support from the single screens though, but the multiplex going audience are showing their interest.
Directed by the ace filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, October is an unconventional romantic drama with thin line subject and slow screenplay, this is why it targets only a particular segment of the audience. Despite all the challenges, the movie has achieved a reputed mark and still adding considerable numbers to its account.
After passing the opening week on a decent note, Varun Dhawan & Banita Sandhu starrer showed strong performance over its second weekend. It raked the business of 1.89 crores on 2nd Friday, and 3.42 crores & 4.27 crores on 2nd Saturday & 2nd Sunday respectively with a fair jump in footfalls.
Now October is running on weekdays again and as usual, witnessing lower footfalls than before. On 2nd Monday, it faced a drop of approx 39.5% than 2nd Friday and bagged the amount of 1.14 crore. Then on 2nd Tuesday, it collected 1.08 crore and raised the 12 days total collection to 42.04 crores at the domestic box office including 30.24 crores of the first week.
Being a non-masala movie, this Shoojit Sircar & Varun Dhawan’s first-ever collaboration took a slow start but showed a healthy jump afterward and remained steady throughout a week. It did the business of 30.24 crores in the first week, that included 20.25 crores of the weekend and 9.99 crores of weekdays from 1683 screens across India.
